Leo Full Moon: The Call to Create

The full moon in 5° of Leo on Thursday, January 25th (11:54 a.m. CST) guides us to face where we resist our transformation so we can access our inherent light and express ourselves in new ways.

Now is the time to reconnect to our creative expression and what brings us joy.

For the past 18 months, we have been strengthening our confidence, healing the wounded parts of ourselves and the places where we strived to be seen in order to claim a new spiritual self-assurance. How have we embodied inspiration? We can now uncover hidden motivations that will help to ignite our creative impulses from the heart.

“Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye.”

Dorothy Parker

This cycle purges old patterns, relationships and ways of being so that we can open our lives in a clear way that is directed by our soul. We align our strength with our power, enabling us to perceive different parts of ourselves.

Divine revelations reveal what we have tended to repeat in our lives. We see where we need to liberate ourselves from past ways of being and embody our worth.

This lunation calls us to break the mold of where we have been hiding. We practice radical honesty to honor and claim more responsibility to ourselves in order live in a way that feels true to who we are.

When we feel deeply connected and aligned with our authentic expression, we can move beyond outdated conditioning, judgment, and entanglement paradigms and are free to define our own rules.

It takes courage to live honestly, as it usually involves making choices that don’t necessarily make sense to mainstream cultures and values.

“To love yourself, truly love yourself, is to finally discover the essence of personal courage, self-respect, integrity and self-esteem. These are the qualities of grace that come directly from a soul with stamina.”

Caroline Myss

Pluto Enters Aquarius

An old cycle is ending. New structures are emerging.

The last time Pluto was in the sign of Aquarius (1778-1798), Uranus was discovered. New parts of our galaxies emerged, allowing the previously invisible to become visible, and showing us how we might see the world differently. This was a time of innovation, awakening and revelation. When Pluto is in this sign, we find that what has been hidden from the collective is revealed, and whatever doesn’t honor the equality and highest good of the collective is challenged. That which no longer serves evolution deactivates. What resists, persists in shadow form. Sudden insights signal us to wake up beyond the self we have known, unlocking novel dimensions.

“You cannot buy the revolution. You cannot make the revolution. You can only be the revolution. It is in your spirit, or it is nowhere.”

The Leo – Aquarius Polarity

Leo represents our passion, our creative play and our soul expression. It is the place where we are connected to our creative impulse to naturally follow the rhythms of our own hearts.

Aquarius is associated with innovation, individuality and intellect. This energy seeks to reform and holds a collective vision for humanity.

The axis of Leo and Aquarius teaches us about individuality, authenticity and creative expression. We embrace who we are meant to be, moving beyond what others think, and can begin to live in a way that is aligned with our authentic essence.

This full moon calls us to stand out from the crowd, dare to be unapologetically true to who we are, and dance with divine inspiration and observe how it wants to move through us. We are encouraged to get out of our own way, follow our joy out into the world and cultivate the courage to create.

“You can be cautious or you can be creative, but there’s no such thing as a cautious creative.”

George Lois

Igniting Sacred Rebellion

This cosmic weather asks that we break with convention and sing our soul song. We confront where we have unconsciously chosen to conform in order to navigate our survival and where we have lost our creative agency. We are asked to be willing to be experimental with our creativity. We reclaim our divine play where we try something just to see what might happen, as though we are looking at the world with the awe and wonder of a child.

In Western culture, we tend to worship celebrities, fame, and visibility, but it isn’t innate to be a star. Often, the more we step into our light, the more we tend to be met with opposition. To own our creativity authority is a sacred act of rebellion.

We receive insights into what we offer the world and are invited to forge new paths to share our gifts. Stepping fully into our light and following our truth is a responsibility awakening within us now.

In a world that competes for the spotlight and seeks to diminish others for entertainment, to embrace our power is another way we can participate in the sacred act of rebellion.

In Leo’s highest expression, we answer the call and take our place on the stage, not because we need to prove anything but because we are reaching greater heights of our authentic nature through the process, discovering more of who we are as an aspect of the divine.

“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life.”

Elizabeth Gilbert

What is illuminated guides us to where we have repressed parts of our creative expression. We may receive sudden insights and feel pain where our light was dimmed. Other people may test us, confronting the places where we think we are being held back, not seen or deserve more. This full moon highlights manipulation and victim consciousness. What is arising offers clarity in how we feel so we can embrace our emotions and act from a place of self-respect.

We Rise Above Individuality

This lunation unlocks fresh dimensional frequencies and light codes for a new era. Old dynamics and ways of being come to completion and we connect to our innate strength to present our gifts to the world. We are tasked with evolving our relationship to power to one that works in collaboration, weaving our skills and talents with the collective ecosystem. While it is important for us to recognize our gifts as we rise into our creative genius, it’s also important to ask, what is all this for? A healthy integration of the Leo / Aquarius Axis understands the need to individuate and stand fully in our uniqueness as an offering beyond the self.

“There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all. Without creativity, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns.”

The Invitation

This lunation unravels the hidden layers that contain the blockages to our creative expression. We have a powerful opportunity to face the places where we have settled, clear out karmic patterns and connect to the part of ourselves that we know is worthy of planting seeds of potential. We can trust our hearts to guide us toward the courage it takes to love ourselves. We can honor our truth and embark on our authentic path.

Leo corresponds with the King and Queen archetype. What we are being asked to rule is our creative agency. To mature into our King and Queen is to be willing to give our dedication and devotion to a higher service from within our full potency. When we come from a place of honoring ourselves, we can allow our grace to guide us to new connections, networks and directions.

We are being guided toward a path where comprehension and responsibility can only be achieved through claiming our unique expression. We are invited to be brave and step confidently into the kind of endeavors that let us express our voice, and we receive clarity on where we can bring our light and gifts into the world. We have replenished our strength to put ourselves first and honor our creative path of service. We are being summoned back to ourselves to sing the song that only we can sing. This full moon guides us back into our hearts.

“Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen.”

Robert Bresson
