The new moon in 18° of Taurus on May 7th (10:22 p.m. CDT) is a radical revival. We are called to break away from the old beliefs that have been keeping us from truly honoring ourselves.
Something new is emerging within us, and we can see more clearly what must change in order to welcome this expansion and growth into our lives.
This new element is concrete and defined, and allows us to embrace the change that is unfolding, surrender what we can’t control and make choices that align with our moral principles.
We are being guided into a major reassessment of our core values this cycle, and are asked to deeply listen to what resonates with our inner core and to remember what matters most.
“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.”
Abraham Maslow
When we understand and accept what needs to change, we are able to meet this moment more fully and from our power.
We engage with this mystical time to honor what is being brought to completion and integrate what we have been processing over the last four to six weeks.
All that we have been working through is supporting us into a deeper sense of self-sufficiency and a deeper self-love.
This new moon initiates a cycle of growth in our lives that seeks to build a greater level of grounded stability. We are anchoring into a more solid foundation where we can flourish. The seeds that are being planted now will start to blossom around the 16th of November this year.
What we are building looks different than where we have been before. We awaken to a fresh understanding of our self-worth and what we are truly capable of.
We Practice Detachment
We have been in a process of facing where we have become too comfortable with old ways and habits, and how we have been holding on to them out of a feeling of security. Now is the time to release where we have been grasping them too tightly out of survival fears and not trusting the universe to resource us.
We sometimes get so fixed on our ideas and what we perceive as our forms of security that we take a more narrow view of what is possible for our lives. Over the past few weeks, we have been more aware of what is restricting us, and our energy has been more focused on managing events unfolding.
This new moon invites us to look up, see the bigger picture, open our hearts to possibility and step into this sacred call of evolution and expansion.
“Learning how to detach, in a healthy manner, will save you from a lot of things that don’t even align with your journey.”
Robin S. Baker
A reevaluation of our relationship to money, our environment and our possessions is necessary in order let go of what feels too vibrationally dense to take forward. This assessment will allow us to dedicate ourselves to what makes us happy and fulfilled. Our work now is to determine why we think we need the things we claim to need, and to move away from the material comforts that don’t serve our growth, so that we can comprehend more clearly what we are actually yearning for.
By connecting to an understanding of what we can’t take forward, we are able to align with environments and relationships that match our frequency.
We make choices and decisions now that not only support our current reality, but also the path that is unfolding. We are called to trust our intuition and examine the bottom-line in what we know to be true.
A lot of what we are attached to holds old energy that no longer aligns with who we are now. What can we let go of in our material world to receive more of our spiritual gifts and meet our soul’s intention?
“You wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.”
Toni Morrison (Song of Solomon)
We Come to New Levels of Self-Worth
Taurus is the sign associated with self-worth, pleasure and security. It is through this archetype that we come to understand our relationship to the physical realm. As a fixed earth sign, Taurus can be stubborn in its attachments. As this archetype’s planetary ruler is Venus and it is currently aligned with Venus in the sign of Taurus, we meet themes about our need for authentic love and how we can achieve more long-term satisfaction, not only in love, but also with our finances and our energy.
Jupiter and Uranus are also currently in the sign of Taurus, guiding us to follow our intuition, honor our uniqueness, and take a risk to step into more of our potential. We liberate ourselves from the way other people’s judgements and perceptions have influenced us, creating a faulty storyline of who we are.
This lunation invites us to summon ourselves back to ourselves and level up by reclaiming our self-worth.
“Sometimes anxiety is your intuition in disguise revealing the areas of your life where you’re not honoring your authenticity.”
Xavier Dagba
There is a new way to relate to others and to be in this world. When we truly know our worth, we understand that we deserve to be someone’s priority in love. We can open to deeper levels of intimacy and be met in this evolving, supportive container. Thus, we open ourselves fully to create more beauty, and to relate authentically and offer healing in the world from a grounded place of self-connection.
This lunation also reminds us that we are worth the vision we are creating. The highest gift that we can give ourselves is to accept the truth of our reality and to trust our inner knowing. We may be confronted with outdated perceptions of what we have felt we deserved, but this new moon will help us to see where we have been disillusioned, and to remember more of who we are at the soul level.
We are asked to grasp the truth around our value so that we are able to relinquish our old attachments to the material realm. We reject previous illusions about what was comfortable and what love felt like, so that we can feel more valued, cherished and honored in our lives.
Belief vs. Knowing
This cycle brings the power of assessment, helping us to discern between what we believe vs. our inner knowing. When we hold onto a belief or narrative too tightly, we can forget to allow space for our life experience to inform us. Life calls us into experiences that unlock new thresholds of ourselves. Discomfort, disconnection and uncertainty act as intuitive markers for what isn’t really working. We are invited to do an honest inventory of where we are holding onto an idea that doesn’t serve our evolution. Sudden insights bring us closer to what we ultimately need to grow. Through the awareness of what is inauthentic, we uncover more of what we require and trust that we will be able to navigate the unknown.
This cycle jolts us awake so that we can see the reality of our lives, break free from old paradigms and break fresh ground. By shedding these long-standing beliefs and narratives, we can tap into our inner knowing to guide us forward.
Without uncertainty and the unknown, life is just a stale repetition of outworn memories. You become the victim of the past, and your tormentor today is yourself left over from yesterday. Relinquish your attachment to the known, step into the unknown, and you will step into the field of all possibilities.”
Deepak Chopra
The Invitation
A beginning is unfolding that requires us to have faith that the divine will support us and provide us with opportunities to share our creative gifts with the world.
Over the past six weeks, we have moved away from what had been keeping us contained and playing small. We are invited to face lack consciousness and illusions of the ego so that we can learn to cocreate with the physical world from new levels of our own power.
In order to embody our authentic nature and meet this chapter of our growth, we must be willing to face the unknown. We need to trust ourselves, be willing to expand beyond our current reality and step beyond our comfort zone.
This is a time of redefinition. We are now in the process of strengthening our inner security so that we can answer the call of adventure that beckons us forward.
