The new moon in Libra (28 °21′) on October 21st at 7:25 a.m. CDT brings a liberation of the heart.
Emerging relationship patterns inspire us to embrace our true selves, strengthen our connections, and live from deeper compassion.
We release outdated patterns of relating that have constrained our core essence, hindered our personal growth, and blocked our deeper aspirations. By letting go of these long-standing habits, we can embrace authenticity and allow our soul’s intentions to flourish freely. When we reflect on what we truly need and value, we can restore balance in our lives by becoming more aware of where we may be overextending ourselves.
We carefully consider our choices and take courageous action that aligns with our hearts.
This lunation is a powerful catalyst that offers sensitivity and awareness, not only to clarify a vision for the future, but also the courage to step into what we long to create.
We can shift our focus from seeking validation from others to self-validation by confronting old belief systems and emotional triggers. This also has the potential of creating a sense of safety that builds stronger foundations for our lives. Only by unlocking a deeper understanding of ourselves can we discover a profound sense of peace—especially through open, honest conversations.
“One’s philosophy is to best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes. In the long run, we shape our lives and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And, the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
On October 14th, Pluto stationed direct, bringing our attention to the themes that were active in our lives last January. We have been on a quest to individuate and have become more aware of all the ways we have been living in an outdated paradigm. We are also confronted with the hidden parts of ourselves so that we can face our deeply held patterns of security. What no longer feels honest or real for us? What new truths are we ready to embrace?
With Pluto stationing direct this week, we see where the real work is to access greater levels of our power. As Pluto goes direct, it opposes Jupiter in Cancer, revisiting the seeds that were planted during the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in 2020. We are guided to explore our connection with power and consider the choices we make in how we live our lives.
This transit prompts us to dive deeper into the impact of our decisions and to reflect on the influences that shape our experiences.

Libra as an Archetype
Libra symbolizes partnership, intimacy, and harmony. This archetype transcends individual identity, delving into our relationships with others and our role in social structures. Libra is often associated with the concept of mirroring, highlighting the role of projection in our personal growth. Our triggers aren’t caused by others; they are revealed to us by the people in our lives in order to teach us something. And it is through witnessing the needs and preferences of others that we can learn more about ourselves.
Libra is associated with the realms of law and advocacy, symbolized by the scales of justice. These scales represent not only truth and fairness but also the harmonious order that governs our interactions. The energy of Libra is particularly adept at fostering diplomacy and mediation, gracefully navigating the nuances of diverse perspectives and promoting understanding among individuals.
This cycle activates themes of justice, and especially highlights injustice, indicating that we must work together to restore order and advocate for equality for all of us.
This new moon does bring tension however, with Chiron in Aries, Eris in Aries, and Jupiter in Cancer. But this tension prompts us to become more aware of our self-identity and deepen in self-compassion. It encourages us to find the bravery to live more authentically. To embody our truth and uphold our values, we may need to let go of our conditioned ways of being. This period may also invite us to reflect on past experiences and emotional imprints, allowing us to focus on areas where we are ready for healing through empathy and acceptance.
During this cycle, we are being guided into a deeper awareness of our patterns so that we can create deeper intimacy with others. Through honest conversations we can actively listen, clarify our needs, and learn to cherish those who matter most.
“The story of human intimacy is one of constantly allowing ourselves to see those we love most deeply in a new, more fractured light. Look hard. Risk that.”
Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar
Coming Full Circle
Within 24 hours of the new moon, Neptune will return to 29° of Pisces, where it will remain until January 26th, 2026.
This transit marks the closure of a 14-year cycle of spiritual awakening. Neptune inspires deeper compassion, heightened psychic sensitivity, transcendent healing, and creative expression. However, it can also lead to themes of disillusionment, escapism, codependence and blurred boundaries.
One significant theme that is activated during this time is the call for unity and living more authentically from our hearts. We are prompted to explore the various ways we create separation and turn away from our connection to Source.
Neptune in Pisces reminds us that to fully embrace a one-world consciousness, we must recognize that there is no “other.” We are all intrinsically connected and have a responsibility to honor and care for one another.
This transit helps us understand how our thoughts and behaviors influence the world around us. What tools, practices, and teachers have guided us toward our spiritual truth? What profound impact might we experience by embracing the power of interconnectivity? Conversely, what are the consequences of disregarding this connection?
Neptune first entered the sign of Pisces on April 4th, 2011. If the lesson during this period was to deepen our understanding of compassion and our sacred connection to the humanity, how well did we do?
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”
Pema Chödrön

Transforming How We Connect
This new moon chart features a powerful water trine that connects us to our emotions, our intuitive nature, and helps heal our relationship to trust. We are supported in addressing our fears and relationship dynamics, allowing us to take responsibility for previous versions of ourselves.
This alignment fosters spiritual maturity, deepens our commitment to our transformation, and fosters a willingness to confront and work through past issues.
This may also reveal where we need to create a sense of safety and approval within ourselves instead of seeking that from others. We may have more awareness around where we aren’t feeling connection with others so that we can get real about how we feel and what we need. It is vital to be conscious of the power of our words and the emotions behind them. We are invited to take our time and to respond from conscious awareness and love instead of reacting or defending our position.
“At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.”
Lao Tzu
