The new moon in 9°35’ of Scorpio on Friday, November 1st (7:47 a.m. CDT) illuminates what is important for us to recognize in order to evolve.
We must face the parts of ourselves that are keeping us stagnant and blocked from our own transformation. It is through witnessing our inner underworld that we awaken to new insights and new aspects of ourselves.
This is an important time to take back our projections, integrate our shadow and reclaim our power.
This is last new moon while Pluto is in the sign of Capricorn—in our lifetime. This brings an energy of completion and endings to what collectively has been dismantled since 2008.
“The best political, social, and spiritual work we can do is to withdraw the projection of our shadow onto others.”
C.G. Jung
We are closing karmic cycles. Now is the time to acknowledge what is ending, identify what feels safe enough to release, and to integrate all that we have learned through this stage of our lives. We also need to honor who we have become. We find ourselves at the edge of an ending where a limit has been crossed or we have reached a natural completion and are coming into the profound process of reassessing our future desires and what motivates our choices.
What do we need to tend to so that we can move forward and cross a new threshold?
This is an important moment to release the old narratives that have kept us from reaching deeper fulfillment.
As we ascend to new growth points and archetypal themes, our collective stories overlap. We tend to cling to old ways and what we are used to and to grip tightly onto what is known. However, the only option is change. What is ours to move forward? What would shift if we truly trusted the unfolding? Where can we surrender to the bigger process of metamorphosis? What is vital to nourish and protect?
As we are coming to these natural end points, we are also connecting to new possibilities.
What is being rebirthed?
The seeds we are planting now will break ground in the next 18 months, coming to fruition around May 2, 2025.
We must trust in our instinctive knowing that guides us toward our evolutionary journey.
“The truth is that most of life will unfold in accordance with forces far outside your control, regardless of what your mind says about it”
Michael A. Singer

Scorpio as an Archetype
Scorpio is the sign associated with unconscious patterns, death, and rebirth. This archetype honors the cyclical nature of transmutation, regeneration, and renewal.
Scorpio energy guides us back to ourselves.
After periods of grief, betrayal, and heartbreak we can connect more fully within ourselves to better understand our attachments, motivations, and pain.
This lunation reveals what we have been repressing so that we can reclaim our power.
“The only journey is the one within.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
There may be buried emotions that surface, and what arises may be raw and real.
But while feeling our emotions can be intense, it is also important to remember that it’s also transformative.
Where have we succumbed to an addiction or held onto past hurts and attachments? What relationship entanglements are we still enmeshed in that aren’t serving us? Where are our patterns no longer a match for our environment? Now, we feel a new way calling us forward.

Our Shadow Is Illuminated
Scorpio energy guides us to see what is going on behind the scenes.
We strip back the layers to reveal what has been hidden from our psyche and dive within in order to know ourselves and to understand our deeper psychological motivations. We look at our patterns with night vision and cut to the truth at its core.
We are often adept at seeing the shadow in other people but tend to miss our own patterns of shadow and sabotage within ourselves. This new moon provides an opportunity for us to see ourselves more clearly and take grounded responsibility for ourselves and our choices, seeing the profound meaning in what we need to care for ourselves and what motivates our actions.
It’s important to recognize that what can be agitating about someone else, actually lives within us. This moment is a gift that shows us our triggers and patterns in order to see more fully within and hold space for all our insecurity and vulnerability that comes with being human. But we must remember that anything that we perceive to have power can captivate our attention and keep us holding on well past its decay.
“Give up to grace.
The ocean takes care of each wave till it gets to shore.”
Mawlana Jalal-al-Din Rumi
We are invited to purge what is toxic in our lives to make space for what we wish to create and innovate.
This energy also asks us to foster a healthy sense of self-respect and commit to greater gains that align with our values and the world that we wish to be a part of.
We can easily discern what is essential to our transformation and commit to the work required to grow and evolve.

The Invitation
This lunation provides a new understanding of ourselves, our patterns, and our intrinsic motivations. What has been hidden is now revealed so that we can discern what is worth fighting for and where we are called to surrender. We bring awareness to how we are showing up for both our personal and collective call to evolution. We are asked to commit to our long-term happiness and release what isn’t ours. We have the fortitude to look at something intently and gain new insights that will nourish our rebirth.
Stay with the transformation.
Strengthen our compassion and empathy.
Sense what is real and guiding us forward.
Stay aware of those whose actions are not trustworthy.
Shed old skins.
Surrender to the process of change that is already in process.
