The new moon in 20° of Leo on August 11th (11:27 a.m. MDT) is a total solar eclipse. This cycle disrupts the established order so we can attune to our life’s direction in new ways.
Eclipses are a harvest of old realities.
At this time, we see things as they are so we can understand what matters most and reclaim what aligns with our soul’s intention. We can also start to remember who we are beyond expectations, roles, or projections. Old identities, structures, and relationships may dissolve as we are guided to meet the next version of ourselves.
Solar eclipses are associated with meaningful beginnings and endings, leadership changes, unexpected opportunities, or a significant change of direction.
A total solar eclipse temporarily interrupts the light we instinctively rely upon, suspending what feels familiar, certain, and known. In this moment of suspension, we are invited into the mystery of what exists beyond the usual sources of clarity and validation.
The familiar light disappears, and we are asked to enter the unknown.
We can ask ourselves:
Who am I when no one is watching, praising, choosing, or validating me?
Is my desire to be of service asking me to step into a new level of sharing my creative gifts?
What happens when I trust my embodied knowing before seeking external validation?
What part of my leadership have I projected onto others rather than claiming for myself?
Eclipses expedite evolution.
They are moments of cosmic redirection, when life recalibrates our path and sometimes shifts our trajectory faster than we would have chosen for ourselves. What is leaving now is making space for something that is far more connected with who we are becoming.
Additionally, this solar eclipse aligns with the South Node in Leo. South Node eclipses illuminate the people, patterns, and circumstances that have reached the end of their natural cycle. They also can serve as an energetic reset that dissolves old ways of being to create space for something more authentic to emerge. They can reveal what is no longer aligned with the person we are becoming or the future we are being called toward, along with the identities, attachments, defenses, and relationship dynamics that once helped us navigate life but may no longer support us. However, it is important to note that what falls away may not be inherently “bad;” instead, it may simply belong to an earlier version of ourselves.
This event will be visible in parts of Iceland and Greenland, and parts of the United Kingdom.
This eclipse cycle initiates a powerful new beginning as the moon’s nodes have shifted into the signs of Leo and Aquarius. We look at the world from a different vantage point and transform the area of our lives where these signs are in our chart. We must be willing to leave behind what no longer serves us, creating space for new ways to express ourselves and share our creative gifts with the world. This is a time to explore our relationship with visibility, step into greater confidence, and allow ourselves to be fully seen. We will continue to work with this polarity through January 26th, 2028. There next cycle on the Leo-Aquarius axis will begin in August 2045.

The Courage to Be Seen
As this eclipse aligns with South Node in Leo, we are encouraged to check our beliefs around individualism or any toxic systems and frameworks that support our longing for acknowledgement without connecting to our soul work. This may be driven by a need for approval or power, such as the desire to have the most followers on social media or time on the stage.
Leo teaches us about our relationship with visibility There is nothing wrong with being recognized for our gifts, but if our identity and self-worth is based on outside approval, we can get in our own way of accessing our creative potential as we may be looking outside of ourselves instead of radiating our unique light from within. We are asked to let go of the requirement for external validation so that we may connect to the creativity that is guided by our hearts and how it longs to be expressed through us.
We can ask ourselves:
Whose approval am I still unconsciously seeking and why?
Where have I confused humility with making myself smaller?
Where am I called to expand beyond the personal to engage in my highest form of service?
Where have we held ourselves back, softened our voice, or dimmed our light out of fear of judgment or rejection?
This cosmic weather brings an opportunity to heal and define our relationship to visibility. This is an invitation to become more comfortable taking up space and allowing our authentic selves, talents, and creative gifts to be witnessed. As we release the need to either hide or perform, we can go forth with greater confidence, courage, and self-expression.

Remembering Who We Are
This solar eclipse guides us to remember who we are beneath the identities, expectations, and stories we have carried. The heaviness of our personal cycles or community patterns of the past few years may have altered our perspective. We may have been stripped of what was familiar, but this process revealed what is essential. We begin to reconnect with the deeper truth of who we are—and to learn we are not defined by what we have lost, achieved, or endured, but by the soul that has remained present through it all.
We are coming home to ourselves. And we are remembering our inner light, our inherent worth, and the wisdom that lives within us. What once felt like an ending may reveal itself as an initiation, guiding us toward a more authentic expression of not only who we are but also why we are here.

The Invitation
This eclipse cycle encourages us to follow our divine spark to come back into life more fully. To do this we must get real with where our heart hasn’t been fully invested in what we have been doing. We are invited to connect to what makes us feel alive and allow our joy to be our compass that guides our next steps.
This eclipse season not only guides us to return to our essence but also reminds us to be playful and experimental–to find ourselves again and access fresh creative inspiration.
Change is beckoning us forward. This could feel like a gentle transition, or it could feel more like a fast swoop into a new chapter. But regardless of what the outgoing process looks like, this change is meant to drive our progress at the soul level. We are also asked to be gentle with ourselves and give ourselves time to implement the changes we are initiating. The seeds that we are planting now will take root and develop over the course of the next eighteen months.
