Scorpio New Moon: Deep Revelation

The new moon in 28°11’ of Scorpio on Thursday, November 20th (12:47 a.m. CST) brings emotional liberation.

We make space to feel all that is arising so that we are able to be radically honest about what we really want and align with the process of rebirth that is beginning to unfold.

This lunation asks us to step out of our comfort zone and to feel into both what we are resisting and what we desire so that we can consciously embody our alchemy.

We are waking up to our power and potential in new ways. Scorpio energy strengthens boundaries, develops inner authority, and aligns to self-respect. We are often conditioned to play small, undermine our skills or surrender our power to feel like we belong. But living intuitively often means we will break a lot of social rules.

This new moon aligns with Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio which prompts us to defy conventions and sever our shadow allegiances to old behaviors that are keeping us from evolving. This archetype shows us where we can find ultimate freedom beyond ego structures and society. Our transformation requires understanding our deeper nature that may have been repressed and buried—especially in relation to our childhood programming and social values. Now is a good opportunity to reflect on the parts of ourselves that are preventing us from expressing our personal magnetism. When we break through these constraints, we can begin to realize our own power and live in ways that feel more unrestricted and honest. And we must remember that our power is not something we find—it’s something we reclaim.

“When the power comes from within us and we claim it as our own, then we no longer have to affirm ourselves by dominating others. The irony is that we are actually afraid of our own power.”

Marion Woodman

Our evolution is inevitable. We can either grip onto what feels known and familiar, or we can submit, leaning into unknown spaces with presence and curiosity.

Awareness of our patterns may be shown to us through our relationships with others. Those who haven’t dealt with their own pain tend to project it outward. It is necessary to realize that what can be irritating about someone else, also lives within us. This cycle offers a gift in that it reveals our triggers and habits, helping us to see more deeply within ourselves and to hold room for all our fear, pain, and vulnerability that is part of the human experience. We get to choose how we meet the moment of connection with others. We can take time to center ourselves, listen, and respond. We can also practice discernment, compassion, and clear boundaries. We can take responsibility for ourselves, while not taking on what isn’t ours.

“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.”

Alan Watts

What has expired and is no longer needed for our growth is surfacing now. A deeper connection to our role in the divine plan for our lives is revealed to us when we face our fears and attachments to old forms. Through this process, we are supported in feeling a deeper connection to unity consciousness and our spiritual essence.

The seeds we are planting now will come to fruition around May 20, 2027.

This cycle prompts a shakeup that helps us to recognize what we truly want. We break old patterns so that we can own our light.

Scorpio as an Archetype

Scorpio is the sign associated with death, rebirth, and unconscious impulses. This archetype represents the cyclical process of transmutation, regeneration, and renewal. Scorpio energy is deeply intuitive, insightful, and passionate.

Scorpio is a sign that embodies transformation and intensity, representing a depth of emotion that often goes unrecognized. This archetype has a heightened sensitivity that goes behind the scenes, probing to understand the psychological motives that underlie our existence. Scorpio teaches us to strip back the layers so we can better understand who we are at our core. This water sign easily senses others’ feelings and unconscious motives. However, there is a tremendous level of vulnerability amid that sensitivity, and Scorpio has the tendency to mask itself for protection. We live in a culture that often doesn’t deal with our feelings. We especially do not like to acknowledge some of the darker emotions that are part of human existence, like jealousy, envy, and rage. When we don’t make space to be with what we feel, we meet our emotions through the shadow and experience them through extremes. Working with the power of this archetype requires a presence practice so that we learn to be with and acknowledge our anger, fear, and grief, and allow our intuition to speak to us through our emotional body.

This lunation illuminates where we are looking for security through our experiences. When we think about security, we often think about what that means in the physical realm, often in terms of having a safe place to live, and money to pay our bills. In Scorpio, though, security is connected to our deepest psychological bonds, and involves our ideas around abandonment, betrayal, and trust.

This cycle calls us to face our attachment to our deepest forms of security, and to let go of maladaptive behaviors so we may connect to what is truly meant to fulfill us and awaken new aspects of our power.

“I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become.”

Carl Jung

Change Catalyzes Our Evolution

Uranus in opposition to the new moon is shaking us awake. Change is happening at our core level, uprooting our attachments, memories, and repressed emotions. Uranus has returned to the degree point where it was in June of 2025. This brings us back to what has already been made known to us that needs to shift. Uranus requires radical alignment and brings an awareness and the desire to make significant adjustments that will allow us to align with our most authentic selves. As Uranus journeys through the last degree of Taurus for the final time (November 7, 2025 to April 26, 2026) it signifies the end of an eight-year cycle that has been guiding us to examine our relationship to security, stability, and worth.

The next five months is a re-evaluation of what stability and security means to us and what needs to change in order to realign with our core values. We are encouraged to tie up any loose ends, finalize projects, and complete any unfinished business so that we can make these needed changes to solidify our new reality. By developing our own witness consciousness, observing our behavior, and making space for the whole range of our emotions, we gain a deeper awareness of our tendencies and awaken to hidden aspects of ourselves.

“When we resist change, it’s called suffering. But when we can completely let go and not struggle against it, when we can embrace the groundlessness of our situation and relax into its dynamic quality, that’s called enlightenment.”

Generational Alchemy

Scorpio is associated with intimacy and inheritance. This archetype guides us into our psychic DNA and the inherited ancestral patterns that are passed down through our emotional imprints, survival strategies, and the unspoken agreements that were formed long before we were born. These legacies possess a potent, transformative quality. Scorpios are the alchemists of their lineage. Depending on the soul’s conscious awareness, the time period we are living in, and the resources we may have, we either repeat what we’ve inherited, or we evolve. The journey within Scorpio is to confront the raw material and unconscious emotions in the family system and shine a light on that which has been repressed or unprocessed.

This new moon is a necessary time to consider what we have been holding that is not ours to continue to carry. What is ready for us to bring into conscious awareness so we can alchemize this pattern and move it forward? We are invited to look at how we seek to cover up our pain and get curious about what we have been retaining in the family line that either keeps us numb to our emotional pain or makes us lash out in an attempt to transfer our pain onto another. When we succumb to our addictions or become so overtaken by hurt that we seek to hurt others, we give our power away. But what is now arising through the emotional body is seeking to transform us and to bring a new understanding of our desires and motivations.

The Invitation

This lunation encourages radical honesty and the willingness to evolve, even when it is uncomfortable. Scorpio energy has a natural desire for renewal, urging us to move beyond surface-level intention-setting and into soul-level honesty. What have we outgrown that we still cling to? Where are we still participating in ego-driven power dynamics that keep us from embodying our own light? Which emotional habits are ready to be released? Where have we given away our power? We are invited to shed what is toxic in our life to make way for what we want to create and develop. True transformation takes time. Growth happens when we learn to practice radical trust with what we cannot see. We are asked to trust in the process and the timing of our rebirth.
