The new moon in 29° of Aquarius on February 17th (5:01 a.m. MST) is an annular solar eclipse.
Our old selves dissolve gracefully as we are guided into a higher awareness of our identities and step into new versions of ourselves. This cycle marks a powerful beginning that will ripple out into new directions.
We connect to a deeper appreciation of our role in humanity and our vision for the world that we wish to create, and foster soul-aligned connections with those who support our vision.
Eclipses mark turning points in the evolutionary path of our souls. Change is inevitable. When the veil is lifted, we are able to view things as they actually are, clearly see what is no longer sustainable, and clarify what we desire.
“To be fully alive, fully human, and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest. To live fully is to be always in no-man’s-land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh. To live is to be willing to die over and over again.”
Pema Chödrön
Eclipses also bring endings, revelations, and major shifts that guide us towards an intentional alignment. During eclipse season we notice the important themes that are beginning to arise in our lives—ones that we will be working toward for the next six months. This set-up phase, along with the time in between, is where the energy is malleable and offers greater insight. It is an important time to follow signs of synchronicity and observe what is unfolding, as it is likely we will come to a better understanding of what naturally is coming to an end and where, exactly, we are called to grow. We will not only have more awareness about what is going on in the outside world, but also gain insights into our personal worlds.
Solar eclipses are powerful catalysts for change as they break up our routines, clarify our intentions, and accelerate the changes we need to make.
Solar eclipses are also new moons that are close to the lunar nodes, which have a fated nature. In an annular solar eclipse, The sun’s light will be temporarily obscured, and only a ring of sunlight remains visible. However, this physical darkening will also be a darkening of consciousness and will have cosmic importance. This event will only be visible very remote areas, such as Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. However, energetically, the activations are incredibly powerful and will be felt around the world.
This particular solar eclipse heralds in new beginnings that will continue over the next six months and beyond. What was previously hidden in our subconscious becomes unveiled, allowing fresh insights to emerge into our consciousness. This will also allow us to see the world from a different perspective.
Additionally, this solar eclipse aligns with the North Node in Pisces. Eclipses that align with the North Node emphasize our growth, our evolution, and our future. We are defining our roles in how we can show up to support more inclusivity, equality, and innovation the world. In Pisces, we are asked to look beyond polarization to connect to our shared humanity and connect through our hearts.
Three days after this solar eclipse is exact, Saturn and Neptune conjoin in 0° of Aries, offering intentional beginnings and a fresh start. This alignment invites us to deepen our self trust and cultivate the courage to step into the void. We are claiming new levels of freedom and independence and following our own intuitive knowing. Where are we called to initiate something different in our lives? What are we willing to commit to? What ripple effect will our actions have in the world?
The last solar eclipse at a similar degree in Aquarius that also aligned with the North Node was in January of 2009. Thinking back to that time, what beginnings were developing? What communities and passions were emerging? Where were we invited to individuate and evolve our sense of self?
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them — that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
Lao Tzu

Our Role in Community
Aquarius is linked to community, collaboration, and the power of collective vision. At its highest expression, it speaks to the greater ecosystem we are all part of—reminding us that our individuality is not separate from the whole, but essential to it. When we embrace our unique qualities and offer our gifts openly, we can contribute creative solutions and healing energy that benefit the collective.
This energy invites us to explore the delicate balance between unity and uniqueness. How can we honor what makes us distinct while also nurturing the shared ground that connects us? Often we have been taught that the ways that we are different are wrong and we can feel very vulnerable in regard to our individuality. Aquarius reminds us that our differences are an asset and our unique perspective is what allows us to see outside the box to bring innovation and creative solutions to our community. This cycle encourages deep reflection on what it truly means to belong—to a community, to the global family, and to a humanity striving to co-create a more harmonious world.
“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.”
Brené Brown
We are being guided into conscious collaboration during this solar eclipse. We are not meant to walk this path alone. It is an important time to nurture connections with those who share our values and connect to the higher vision of the world we wish to create.
As the lunar nodes shift into the Aquarius and Leo axis in July of 2026, the themes of freedom, equality, truth, whistle blowing, sacred rebellion, and the power of the people versus elitism will be strong. What does it mean to be in a leadership role when you are not honoring the rights and needs of those you are in service to? What are the consequences of being incongruent with the needs of those whom you have vowed to serve? This next two-year cycle will aid us in recognizing the strength of the collective —and the role we each play within it. Where are we being asked to shine our light and dare to be different? Where are we being beckoned to appreciate diversity and make a better world together? Are we attaching ourselves to those who share our vision and values for the future? This shift in lunar nodes is a call for spiritual revolution to move from an us-versus-them mentality to a collective we that awakens to both leading and living from the heart.
“Our longing for community and purpose is so powerful that it can drive us to join groups, relationships, or systems of belief that, to our diminished or divided self, give the false impression of belonging. But places of false belonging grant us conditional membership, requiring us to cut parts of ourselves off in order to fit in. While false belonging can be useful and instructive for a time, the soul becomes restless when it reaches a glass ceiling, a restriction that prevents us from advancing. We may shrink back from this limitation for a time, but as we grow into our truth, the invisible boundary closes in on us and our devotion to the groupmind weakens. Your rebellion is a sign of health. It is the way of nature to shatter and reconstitute. Anything or anyone who denies your impulse to grow must either be revolutionized or relinquished.”

Cultivating the Inner Observer
What is our perception of reality? What themes are being revealed to us? What isn’t working any longer? This eclipse invites us to slow down to watch what is unfolding and what needs to be refined, edited, and adjusted. One important part of this is our mindset and how we choose to look at the events in our life. When we stay constantly busy and in perpetual motion, it is easy to override our intuitive hunches. As we learn to create space to deeply listen and observe, insight is more likely to enter. Stillness is what opens the portal to divine downloads. As we begin to notice what we notice, we will be able to see more clearly what patterns and themes are emerging.
Eclipses are times when things move in a nonlinear fashion and support us in making needed changes so that we can connect with our soul’s intention. We may observe our lives coming into a kind of freeze frame, where some things will seem to be moving at an accelerated pace, but at the same time, we will be slowing down to take in and process a lot of information. This is an important moment to pay attention and to stay present, allowing plenty of space to feel into how we are being guided to respond instead of simply reacting to other’s behaviors and life events.
As this eclipse aligns with Uranus, our intuitive perception is amplified. We have the ability to detach and take an eagle-eyed view on our lives. It is through Aquarius that we learn to see things as they are without creating a narrative, overly identifying, or placing a higher meaning on anything. We begin instead with pure observation. We look at our lives with sacred sight, not allowing the mind to attach to the story but rather staying present in the awareness. As we do this, we may begin to feel a dissonance with what is unfolding in contrast to the life that we thought we were living. Our experiences help clarify what we most long for and what is naturally coming to an end in our lives.
Entering New Timelines
This eclipse brings us to choice points and opens new paradigms. How we choose to show up while taking the next steps of our evolution has everything to do with our perception of our lives and how we observe the reality we are in. For example, are we able to see all the good that is around us, even if we are navigating intense challenges? Or do we look through the lens of victim consciousness, blame, and shame? If we are always seeing things as either fair or unfair, we may miss our soul’s intention or the lesson that is there to develop and teach us. We are waking up to our role as a conscious cocreator and are becoming more aware of what we give our attention to and what we are aligning with energetically. This solar eclipse presents an opportunity to connect to our vibrational state and what is resonant to our values. If we do this, we can reclaim our agency and make a fresh start where we can bring more of our unique gifts in service to the collective.

The Invitation
This solar eclipse offers liberation. We have the opportunity to move into a higher state of awareness that is associated with how we are evolving. Changes may come faster than we anticipate, but they are here to support our growth and give us a fresh understanding of our healing journey and our role in our community. We enter new timelines with a better grasp of who we are and how we can contribute our gifts to the collective ecosystem.
“Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”
Ruth Bader Ginsberg
This cycle brings life-changing developments that help us to understand our souls more fully and how we are now called to grow. We may be surprised at how quickly everything shifts as we begin to move in a different direction and adopt a new perspective.
