Full Moon in Libra: Healing Through Connection

The full moon in 16°07′ Libra on April 5th (11:34 p.m. CST) is opposite Chiron. This lunation illuminates our emotional wounds, which serve as the impetus for realizing our gifts and reclaiming more of who we are. We open to a new understanding and a more profound sense of peace through open, honest conversations. If we are willing to face the vulnerable parts of ourselves which we try to hide, we can access the healing medicine we need most.

This lunation is rare in that we are amid two Aries new moons–the first at the 1st degree and the second at the last degree, symbolizing karmic completion. This is the space in between and an invitation to come into balance as we simultaneously initiate new chapters and consciously end others.

This particular full moon relates to the new moon in Libra that occurred on October 6th, 2021. Thinking back to the time, what intentions did we plant consciously or unconsciously? In what areas of our life have those intentions manifested and reached fruitarian?

This is the 7th full moon in a row of seven that takes place in 16° of their sign. 16 is a powerful number associated with spiritual transformation, intuition and awakening. The past seven months have supported us in embracing the unknown and bridging the outer and inner realms of the earth and sky. This lunation assists us in shedding the old way of being to integrate and embody higher consciousness.

This full moon marks the beginning of eclipse season, a period of uncertainty and transformation, a time to open to a consciousness upgrade and align with destiny.

The Pathway To Our Healing

This lunation is a powerful catalyst for healing. It is a call to begin accepting our deep emotional wounds, opening new perspectives to clear the path to our next steps in healing. We can now believe in limitless possibilities while we shed our allegiances to the old paradigm. We come to an understanding around our abandonment wound and open to a deeper peace within ourselves.

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”

Rumi

We are being supported in embodying conscious awareness of what we need to shed and how to move through energetic blocks. How do we release the patterns from the old paradigm to bring integrity back into alignment with our personal and collective journeys?

We have the capacity to make giant evolutionary leaps into a new form of consciousness and a new way of being human on this planet. We are called to come into right relationship with our people and our world.

Libra as an Archetype

Libra is the sign of the lover, companion and peacemaker. This archetype extends beyond the self to explore our relationship with others and our place in social strata. In relationships, Libra is often associated with mirroring, showing us the role of projection in our self-development. When we fully own what we bring to our relationship dynamics, we begin to see the deeper threads that initiate attraction. What we seek feels strangely familiar, leading us to understand how it stems from our conditioning and first relational experiences.

Libra is associated with the law, advocacy and the scales of justice. The scales represent truth and fairness and the natural order. Libra energy is highly skilled in diplomacy and mediation.

Libra energy continually recalibrates, guiding us to inner balance. This archetype must practice listening and honoring its inner gauge of what harmony feels like; and learn to follow this feeling above the opinions, ideas and expectations of others and stay true to themselves.

“The psyche is a self-regulating system that maintains its equilibrium just as the body does. Every process that goes too far immediately and inevitably calls forth compensations … Too little on one side results in too much on the other.”

C.G. Jung

The shadow of Libra is people-pleasing, which occurs when the outside world’s expectations drown out our own inner voice and needs. When the desire for approval is disproportionate, they may find themselves accommodating others and doing what makes others happy. There is essential learning and development around giving and receiving.

Other shadow aspects of Libra include codependence, getting stuck in blame, victim consciousness and taking things very personally. They view life through a victim’s lens, deeming it either fair or unfair, risking our growth beyond a two-dimensional paradigm.

The Libra-Aries Polarity

Libra encourages us to open our minds and trust our instincts regarding others. On the other hand, Aries follows their intuitive insights to independently and courageously navigate into the unknown.

This polarity reminds us to cultivate the space to listen deeply. It is vital to consider the opinions and perceptions of others but, ultimately, continue to trust our inner voice.

In Libra, we attune to balance and must learn to stay true to ourselves and express our needs even when they directly conflict with the expectations of others. In Aries, we align with the inner wisdom gained through our experiences to live from internal validation and become self-directed.

We must learn to make choices that honor and value ourselves. We assess the situation and align to an inner state that anchors us to who we are and what we truly need. We practice comprise, diplomacy and deep listening. We honor our higher guidance on where and how to give. We learn to connect to an inner attunement that orients towards balance, fairness and peace.

“We are capable of regaining our reverence for life, of replacing the drive to conquer with the will to cooperate, of remaking our engineered institutions, including our corporations, into living systems.”

Elisabet Sahtouris

This lunation illuminates the relationships which are working for us. We can liberate ourselves from expectations rooted in patriarchal conditioning and define relationships on our terms. We can listen deeply to what aligns with our soul’s evolution and cherish those connections. What’s misaligned will become more apparent, and we can surrender and trust that what is meant for us will find us at the right time. We let go of what isn’t working and can begin a new chapter of relating—one where our needs can be met, and we accept others for who they are.

Chiron assists us in bringing presence to the vulnerable parts of ourselves that long to be accepted, loved and heard.

The full moon quincunx Uranus in Taurus fosters tension, unpredictability, and volatility. It evokes the desire to be liberated and to experience exhilarating change. Expect the unexpected. This aspect requires us to keep an open mind and be flexible to change. This may work well for creative projects or channeling intuitive insights and epiphanies.

Mercury in Taurus is sextile Mars in Cancer and sextile Saturn in Pisces. This highlights the importance of emotionally honest, grounded conversations spoken from the heart. Open, honest communication can resolve conflicts and create practical strategies to support our goals. We possess the stamina and perseverance to see our work through to completion and work together in a way that is fair and just.

This full moon is square Pallas Athena in Cancer which supports us in uncovering patterns from our early experiences of love and connection so we may shed conditioning and open to embracing authentic relating.

The full moon is trine Kali in Gemini. Kali supports us in releasing our idea of how we think things should be and being present to the emerging new growth in our lives. In the sign of Gemini, Kali helps us see the power of our words and encourages us to use them with integrity.

Hygeia is a medicine woman that reminds us of our infinite healing potential. In Aquarius, we are invited to be innovative and open to radical ideas that may support health and well-being.

Pluto in Aquarius squares to the Moon Nodes in Taurus-Scorpio. We have an incredible opportunity to grow and transform in both our individual and collective soul’s journeys! We become aware of what is no longer empowering us so we can surrender and trust where we are meant to evolve.

This full moon chart has a kite aspect with a Grand Water Trine with Mars in Cancer, Saturn in Pisces, the South Node in Scorpio, and two sextiles to the Mercury/North Node alignment in Taurus. The Grand Water Trine highlights our ability to flow with authentic feeling and access love and acceptance of past experiences. Our ability to take responsibility for our needs, self-parent and nurture ourselves is enhanced.

The full moon is conjunct with asteroid America. This asteroid was named after the United States, so it’s not surprising that it has been correlated to shifts and exposing shadow patterns of this country. This may heighten the themes of justice, law, unexpected events, instability and emotional volatility in the United States.

The Invitation

We are ushering in a paradigm of relating that requires greater emphasis on conscious communication, accountability and space to grow into the fullness of our evolving self while nourishing and supporting the fullness of others to grow.

We see more of what isn’t working so that we can get to the work of creating order from the chaos, tend to our well-being and align to choices governed by value, self-connection and unconditional love. This powerful healing moon beckons us to set boundaries and engage in grounded conversations that support new pathways of valuing ourselves, enabling us to show up authentically for those we hold most dear.

This lunation brings us to the edge of relationship dynamics so that we can see ourselves in the reflection of projection and come into deeper acceptance. We awaken to the places where we have been out of rhythm to breathe our creativity into harmonizing with our inner soul song. We get real around our relationship to burn out, over-giving and learn how to practice the art of compromise from our soul esteem. Through our willingness to look, we access new insight that activates lifeforce to the places where alchemy can flow. We begin to recognize the sacredness in our pain and allow it to transform and heal. Through this process, we open to receive more love that surrounds us.

“Soul-esteem is not tied to the outer world and passing fads. It emanates from within – the eternal, intrinsic and Divine part of our being that knows we have the same value as everything being alive in the Universe. Soul-esteem empowers the ego to perceive our inherent Divine equality.”

Robert Ohotto
